Very Disappointed

I just finished practice #5 test on the blue book. 580-640. I've only increased 30points on CR. I just don't get it, I really thought I've improved when i started out with a 22/24 on sec2, but reality counter attacks and i got a 11/19 on sec 5. What exactly is the problem?? People say practice makes good scores, but shouldn't I at least imporve 50 points?? When I go back and correct my mistakes, I know why i got it wrong. But then I always make the same mistake on the next test. I'm very depressed.

i have sections like that also. I've come to realize that i didn't do so well on certain sections because i wasn't focused enough to be able to fully comphrend what the story was saying. So just try to concentrate (but not too hard) and enjoy the story :D

Don't worry. I dropped 50 points in CR.

It's most likely that the content of the different types of passages are difficult to comprehend for you.
Like, if the passages are all about history and politics, I sometimes get as low as 550.
But if the passages are narrative, scientific, etc, I can get as high as 700+.

I just simply did not understnad the whole political concept. I didnt understand at all - I always avoided the political/historical articles in magazines and opted for the scientific and humorous ones.

Just read alot in the field of your weaknesses. If you're taking it this saturday, just hope that good passages will come... I'm not even religious and I've been praying to god for that lol

I love narrative passages. When I took the PSAT, my articles were on quantum mechanics, mathematics, and this short story about a boy and his dog.

Needless to say, I aced that PSAT reading...I just wish the same could happen 3 days from now!

Okay i feel better now, i just aced my first CR section, untimed. So how exactly do you guys pace yourself.

Don't worry. I dropped 50 points in CR.

ROFL
