I got my very first piece of college mail today. Though isn't it a bit early (I'm a sophomore) for colleges to be sending stuff?

btw, the 2 places that sent me stuff today was WUSTL and Long Island University.

Be prepared to get lots and lots more. It doesn't end until you've been accepted somewhere.

Have you taken the SAT or PSAT? That's usually how colleges get your address.

^^And even then, some colleges don't get the hint that it's February and you're not interested.

"Be prepared to get lots and lots more."

I'd like to add on to the end of that sentence, "from WUSTL." Thank you.

I've been accepted to Brown ED, but suddenly I'm getting a huge influx of this mail from Ohio State. I never expressed any interest in there. I wonder what their deal is.

Ugh, I've been getting all these emails from colleges. It's a bit hard wading through them, so I just keep them in a little Hotmail folder.

lol I got accepted to Wake Forest ED and even after accepted for a month they sent me a weekly packet and application.

yeah, U Pitt doesn't seem to realize that they already accepted me two months ago.

WUSTL....get ready for atleast another year and a half of stuff from that place. nonstop mail from them. ahhhhhh.....after a while i just tossed it. never even considered goin there. but hey u might like it, lots of people do

You could be eco-friendly and recycle all this college mail. There's the bright side!

My very first piece of college mail was in sophomore year, too. Some summer program in Stanford that I certainly could not afford. Ah, sophomore year. The one year in which I opened all of my college mail. Now most of it gets tossed in the recycling bin before/shortly after I open it. I think I've saved a whole tree recycling WUSTL mail.

I have kept most of my college mail, since I have only recieved about 5 pieces (I never submit information to College Board when I take their tests).

^^Smart man

if you took the PSAT as a freshmen, and didnt bomb it or keep them from selling out ur info, its very normal to start getting mail by sophmore yr

and them selling out ur info isnt necessarily a bad thing, but fo real, the collegeboard and their monopoly is worse than microsoft

I'd like to add on to the end of that sentence, "from WUSTL." Thank you.

word

but then again theyr ranked 4th overall now... i wonder if sb forgot to tell them

I'm a freshman and already got an invitation to a college planning fair.

I guess it's never too early!

Yeah, the flow started today too for me. TCU (I'm not christian), U Miami (yeah, right), LSU (admittedly snickered a tad at that) and several others. More'll come.

Think of it as fanmail :)

No, it's never too early - colleges figure if they send you stuff early then their name will stick and you'll be more prone to go there.

It never stops. I'm still getting college stuff and I'm done applying and have heard from most of my schools. Ugh.

Im a sophomore too and I didnt take the PSATs as a frosh, only as a soph. my e-mail has been stuffed with college stuff. havnt gotten any paper mail yet though.

I'm still getting stuff too, and I've finished all of my apps. Around the middle of my junior year, I just started throwing everything into my closet, and now there's sort of an avalanche of college mail...mostly from WUSTL, unfortunately.

that's interesting. i get mail from every college on the planet except WUSTL. maybe they don't like me haha
