Very good SAT's low GPA. possible?

Hello I was wondering how possible it would be to get into Umich with a low GPA, poor extracurriculars but perfect SAT's

I finished junior year with an cumulative GPA of around a 3.1
Freshman Year was a 2.5
Sophmore Year was also a 2.5
Junior Year was a 4.0

I took AP Bio (B+), AP Japanese (A+), AP Latin (B), AP US (B), and AP Micro and Macro economics (A+)

I currently take AP Psychology and AP Comparative Government

My SAT's were a 2400
My Math II SAT II was an 800
My Japanese with listening SAT was also an 800
MY US History SAT II was an 800

Extracurriculars
Volunteer for Tsunami efforts in Japan
Volunteering for hurricane damages in NYC
3 Years of Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track
8 Years of Judo
Volunteering for 3 weeks at a Japanese day camp
Japanese School for 12 years

Do you think I have a chance if I do early action? Thank you all!

The SAT’s in themselves will not be enough to get you admitted. How did you GPA go from 2.5 to 4.0? Are there circumstances to explain this? Your situation is a bit unusual and difficult to project but at U-M they generally prefer high GPA over high test scores. If there were no upward trend in the GPA your chances would be bleak with a 3.1.

Is the GPA weighted? Even if it isn’t, I would say your chances are bleak. The upward trend is nice, but I really don’t think its going to offset 2 consecutive years worth of bad grades. Michigan cares much more about your unweighted GPA than it does about your test scores.

Did you take some of those AP courses in your sophomore year?
