<p>You should take the most challenging classes in which you can do well without sacrificing other aspects of your life.</p>
<p>etselec is exactly right. As to specific classes, you would definitely want to take AP Chemistry. If next year is your freshman year in HS, take whatever prerequisites may be necessary (i.e., Pre-AP Chem., etc.) so that you can take the more advanced courses as a junior/senior in HS.</p>
