<p>My oldest kid didn’t get her internships through her school’s career office. She targeted the organizations she wanted to intern for (a long list), learned the cycle and process for applying, and was right on top off applying early and aggressively. You can get a lot out of any of these schools. A degree from any of them is better than no degree.</p>
<p>VTech, CNU, and UMW are other terrific in-state options that are better than FAU and FIU.
Actually, what matters most will be what YOU do. A GPA below 3.0 from UVA will lead you exactly nowhere (you typically need a 3.0, regardless of where you attend, to get an internship). Sure, UVA and W&M have the most prestige but if you’re not ready to be 100% focused while there, I’m not sure they would be a good pick.</p>
