So freshman year in Honors Math i received two Cs. It was primarily because of a stupid student teacher that taught the entire year while our realy teacher was off doing stuff for the district. The teacher was student teacher was horrible honestly. If you were to look at my transcript after freshman year i have received all As and 1 B in math after that year. Is this a good enough topic to write about for the "anything else you would like to add" on the common app. I think its important and i feel the need that they should know as to why i got those two Cs. Is this not appropraite to write about, or what? Can someone tell me please?

That is not something you want to write about in the "additional info" section -- you will come off as whiny and immature.

What you can do is ask your counselor to mention the incident in his/her school report -- that doesn't come off as whiny/making excuses and gives a good explanation for the two "C"'s.

thanks guys i was leaning toward your answers as well. Ummm so you are saying that it will look fine or not fine but better since the Cs came freshman year and i did better in math after that?
