I am a student going into Pratt. Am I supposed to have only 4 classes for the fall semester? Chem, math, writing, and EGR? that equals a total of 4 credits. Also, we don't register for the spring semester yet right? anybody who knows please answer, my window is tomorrow. Thanks!

Yes
Yes

But you could take Egr 10 and max out at 4.5 credits.

That 0.5 credits won't come into use unless you take a half credit (phy ed, basically) class somewhere down the line and you don't anticipate getting enough credits as it is. EGR 10 is just for if you don't know what major you want to be within Pratt.

Of course being an engineer... you really won't have any problems with not getting enough credits.

But I would say definitely take egr 10, I mean it can be slightly boring (a lot of ppl were playing warcraft on their laptops my year) but there might be a few lectures worth of interesting stuff.

Like I found about biologically inspired design course from that class and took it second semester of my freshman year. I took it as egr 165 (but it was a really really easy class) and apparently counts as a BME elective for me now.. .so you never know

When I took Egr 10 you could only miss 2 lectures before you failed, which would be terrible cause I skipped out on two really boring CE and ME lectures at the beginning and had to make the rest because I couldn't drop as it was after the drop/add period. Instead, just find some friends in the lecture and get the schedule of lectures from them. Go to the ones you're actually interested in without signing up for the class. You won't get the 0.5 credits, but there's no way you should need it.
