VERY LOW GPA. how badly will this hurt me?

I'm an Asian and I have a 3.46 unweighted, around a 4.0 weighted. I took all honors freshmen and junior year and am taking one honors and 5 AP's junior year (this year).

My SAT scores are in the 2300's during my practice tests and I projecting a score of at least that when I take it this month.

I really want to go to Wellesley but most of the applicants have stellar grades. If I don't have a chance at ED for Wellesley, I'll probably just ED Smith because I love that school equally as much and because I don't want to waste my ED.

Thanks for reading!

Your GPA isn’t that low…I came here expecting sub-3.0. An SAT score in the 2300s is great and will do a lot to make up for your averageish GPA. Just make sure you demonstrate a continued passion through your ECs and write a great essay. I would say you absolutely have a chance for ED at Wellesley.

Have to agree with Wellesleygrrl. That GPA is actually really normal. Some people here have astronomical GPAs and don’t get in, others have terrible GPAs and are more well-rounded and get in.
