Very Low SAT CR Score - How Much Will it Really Hurt for MIT?

well i’ll say that it will, but as a tech school i’d think that they want more math score.

can you chance me?

Um…I think that little antioxidant improving stem cells thing will get you almost a straight ride there. Don’t even worry about that CR score. Hardly of any importance for MIT.

It will definitely hurt, but it will probably be overlooked because everything else is so stellar. If its not too late, I’d recommend retaking the SAT’s just to raise it to at least a 640 or taking the SAT Literature Subject tests which is just a advanced critical reading.

I suggest an interview will help your chances.

raj, it won’t hurt you that much… Especially if you take toefl, score 100-105+ and show that your comprehension of English is fine.

Yeah, I’ve had an interview. It went pretty well, we discussed alot about my research and he knows my passion and hard working ethic. He also told me that even though it would have been better to raise the CR score, MIT will probably push it aside once they see the essay for “something you’ve created” where I talked about my Intel award winning research. It would be REALLY nice to get in early action, but with 5000 students this year and only around 350 getting accept, it seem’s almost impossible.
