My SAT score as of right now is 540- Math 520- Writing and 460- Critical Reading.

This is really low and my goal is 1900!

Does anyone know how I can improve this score? Btw, I have been reading some SAT books and they had not been very helpful :[ Anyone who can recommend me some good books would be awesome!

My critical reading sucks!! I cannot get those passages

Take moar practise tests and drink rrockstar energy drink

Sent from my Droid using CC App

Either practice more, or switch to ACT. It might be the better test for you.

Math: Gruber’s SAT Math. Amazing. I’m still working on it, so I don’t have booms for the other sections yet. Go to the SAT Prep section on this site and look at the stickied threads - I’d link you, but I’m on my iPhone.

Good luck!

Practice. Practice, Practice! If your scores are well below desired is it unreasonable for me to ask what, if any, test taking strategies you are using? It is hard to master large piles of content in a few weeks or months, but better testing techniques (as far as timing, maintaining focus, etc.) can add hundreds of points to your score quickly assuming you had troubles with focusing or didn’t get through all the tests. If you are already doing these things and easily finishing the test on time all I could say is try the ACT (I like it better) or just take as many practice tests as possible to be exposed to many different questions.

I used the ACT/SAT Powerprep CD which I got for only the shipping and handling (like 20ish bucks) and it was very helpful strategically.

i did but there is only two weeks left :(

any good books out there perhaps?

mcgraw hill’s vocab = you only get 3 wrong max if you memorize it (probably only 1-2) and its easier to memorize than the rest if youre short on time
otherwise, get a great tutor

SAT people love testing how well you can recognize is/are differentiations, so look out for things like that. For writing section: Look up a 1-2 page summary of basic grammar rules. It boosted my writing score 100 points.
