If you are not selected for admission to the Huntsman Program, you will be considered for admission to the single degree school of your choice and you will be given the same consideration as all other single degree candidates.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but assuming one is not selected for Huntsman ED, would they be considered for their single-degree school on an ED or RD basis?

I’m just a future applicant too, but what I was told is that you are allowed to indicate whether you prefer to be considered ED or RD for your second choice, Wharton or the college. I have heard, though, that they prefer to see ED for your backup as it shows more of a commitment to Penn.

No, there’s a part of the common app supplement that asks you if you are not admitted to the dual degree would you still like to apply early decision. You can check yes or no. If you check no, then you will just be deferred to the regular round if you don’t get into huntsman and you can be admitted to your second choice RD. But if you check yes, you will be admitted to your second choice (wharton or CAS) under ED. Read the supplement carefully, the answer to this question is given quite clearly.

Yeah, there’s this last numbered part after all the dual degrees are listed that was called something like “early decision single degree option”. I thought I was supposed to sign it, but then I read it was only for dual degree applicants (I only applied to CAS).

False. If you apply for ED Huntsman, and you are not selected; you are required to applying to the single-degree program of your choice. However, you are applying on a RD basis. Therefore, if you are accepted to Upenn, single degree program, you have the option to accept or reject.
