on another "chances" site, on my resume thing i said how i'm a competitive dancer and that i've earned over 200 awards in competitions since the beginning of high school (didn't list them all or anything and don't intend to.. haha). someone on that site said that i shouldn't say that and only write awards that i've received FROM my high school. is that true??

thanks =]

While you were in High School. Admissions isn't so interested in what you've done before hs, so just list the awards you got in grades 9-12. Unless maybe if you were like, national champion or something.. iunno..

yeah that's what i mean.. i did get all of those awards while i was in high school but they're not awards specifically FROM my high school (aka... like a dance competition within my school or something) basically.. he was saying not to put awards from anything earned off of the school campus

No, definitely mention the awards because they are an important part of your extracurricular activity (dance). There's space to list your academic awards and honors, but colleges also want to know about your extracurricular activities, which by no means at all fall strictly into a school-related category. And since dance is obviously an important part of your life, you should mention your success :)
