Very Short Interview

I had an interview today that lasted around 25 minutes. They said the interview would be about an hour-long, but my interviewer ended it right after the 25-minute mark. She stopped asking me questions around 15 minutes in, and I used the last ten minutes to ask any questions I had. Is it bad to have a shorter interview? My last interview lasted the full hour so today’s interview was significantly shorter.

Different interviewers have different styles of interviewing. Don’t take it too seriously.

Of the schools that I’ve applied to this year, the length of my interview ranged from 15 minutes to around 45. I’d say the impression you made is more important than how long the interview lasted.

I’d say my interviews have been anywhere from 45 minutes to 1hr30minutes. It really depends on the school and how much you like to talk.(i’m a big talker which is why they lasted very long)

A short interview doesn’t mean much.

18 min for student + 5 mins for parent. I had a short one too.

It’s quite possible that the interviewer planned for a 30 minute interview (in spite of how it was scheduled or what you expected.) At this point in the cycle, many AOs are trying to complete all interviews. Don’t sweat it.
