I am freshmen,(9th grade on fall)
and I don't like searching for scholarship, too many to considered.

Around 11th grade is a good time to passively start keeping an eye out for scholarships. By the summer before to fall semester of 12th grade you should start actively searching and applying. You continue searching and applying for scholarships indefinitely until you graduate college.

Only a very small number of scholarships will apply to you. Factors such as your intended major, ethnicity, semester standing, family income, corporate and union affiliations, job experience, etc. can prevent you from applying for certain scholarships. You should give serious thought to every scholarship that you’re eligible for - after all, it’s free money and college tuition+books+living+food+misc. is not cheap. Not to mention that the compounded interest rates of continuously aggregating loans can really destroy you when you finally graduate. Assuming you can’t pay off your loans in a timely manner, defaulting may prove catastrophic to your financial credibility.

If, however, you deem that you’re financial situation is comfortable enough, you can choose to refrain from applying for scholarships that you think demand effort exceeding the possible payoff, both in terms of your likelihood of winning as well as the actual scholarship winnings.

Contests - in the form of essays, research, or whatever - should also be given the same amount of attention as scholarships. In fact, any legitimate organization that gives out free money should be considered.

Scholarship find you.

Thank you so much, I posted only few words but you applied so with effort, thank you so much AeroEngineer3141, of course Grisam thanks man.

^^lol i just laughed so hard

You can actually start looking right away. I started looking wayyyy too late.

Many scholarship contests (essays, projects, competitions, etc) are open to freshmen.

fastweb.com is a good website to use to start looking. Trust me, with the way that tuition prices are going- it’s definitely not too early to start looking.

There’s no timeline, though you should always be actively looking for opportunities to soften the cost of college. Getting involved in youth success foundations are a good way to obtain some scholarship money if you’re active enough.

futurexecutive<<<I am not sure what you have laughed but I am laughing with you. ^^;

Thank you for the webside, I will keep searching till graduate, of course, freshman is the time when I have most time, I think it is sure best time to start looking. Thank you.

Also, I can’t believe I forgot this. Talk to your counselor. They often have many more obtainable local scholarships that won’t appear online.

Haha Thanks man, I don’t know you will check this but, is the fastweb.com<<<<is this site can be trusted, like putting my real name and address and such things.

^ Yes. It’s very trustworthy. I earned about $30k+ through scholarships that I found on there.

PS- I’m not a man :p

Yes, I glad you checked, thanks woman,it sounds hilarious. ^^:

Junior year, but there are some out now if you want to start early.

“Scholarship find you.”

LOLOL wow I found that very funny for some reason.

^^^Is there a need for 12 commas?

^ Welcome backkkkkkkkkkk
(and no, there wasn’t a need for a million K’s but whatever) :P

My suggestion is to start as soon as possible. Seriously, there are scholarships that kids as young as 13 can apply for.

I have one that you could try since you are a freshmen.

Every year, the Ayn Rand foundation sponsors essay contests on her books. The book for 8, 9 and 10th graders is Anthem. Anthem is pretty short, and you probably could find at most libraries. Just read it and write an essay based on the prompt. Not too difficult or time-consuming.

I don’t know if we’re allowed to post links, so I won’t post the link to their website. However, you could find it pretty easily by googling “Ayn Rand novel essay contest.”

there are some books out their so just keep your eyes out.:)

no reason for 12 commas, no reason.,
and thanks I will start pretty soon.

^ LOL that reminded me of “soviet russia” jokes!
