Very Urgent about rescinding

HI
I was accepted in December through early decision. After that i felt kind of loss of motivation due in combination to senioritus and depression. I have been diagnosed with depression since 10th grade and i stopped taking medicine in the fall of 12th grade. I think the stopping medication had some inpact on me along with the loss of motivation due to senioritus that came a little early for me because of the early acceptance. As a result, i started not attending regularly to school and in fact didn't go to school at all for 2 weeks. As a result, of course, the administrators raised issue regarding the dramatic fall of grade and attendence and had meeting with my parents and counselor. Consequently i rescieved failing grade in 2 of my classes and D in other two of my classes in first semester.

Deciding that there had to be a major change, i started therapy with my psychiatrist along with taking medicine and counseling with one of my teachers who was very concerned and was willing to help. Now, as of end of 3rd marking period, things are still hard but had a lot of improvements. I tried to attend all my classes and as a result my attendence improved greatly along with my grades. I think i can get what i used to get in 9-11th grade in terms of grade.

As of now, what i am planning to do is to keep this upward trend and possibly get close to grade that is consistent with the grade i applied with. Plus, im planning to ask one of my teachers who had me for first semester and is having me rignt now for 2nd semester write a letter of recommendation along with that of administrator on top of doctor's letters all for explanation for my delinquence and to explain that i had made effort to and capable of making changes.

Please note, that i have turned down any offers of acceptance and didn't apply to any other colleges. Revoking acceptance would put me in a very difficult position in which i wouldn't have any college to attend this fall.

Sorry for long texts. But do you guys think this is enough to prevent cornell from rescinding offer? i just want to hear your opinions. A case study would be great.
Thanks

This is something you should ask the admissions office. Good luck.

wow i feel really bad for you, and you should too for the situation you put yourself in. It's tough b/c you FAILED two of your courses, that's not just getting a C or a D. I'm not sure about your school, but sometimes that can jeopardize getting a high school diploma, which for sure won't allow you to get into college.

Well i don't want to make you panic, but ask your school if you can make up the credit for those two courses. Cornell may overlook this if your doctor can really write an amazing note attributing this to depression, but you said as well that senioritis may be a factor, which wouldn't look good.

Really try to pull your grades up. I feel really bad for you b/c you have no where else to go, and i really hope for the best for you.

guess your school might be willing to change grades though.....
so why don't you try on your school teacher first, then contact the admin. office about your case.

I'd def contact Cornell...especially w/ updated grades. Best of luck!!! Ur obviously a VERY bright person to be excepted to Cornell so just think the bright side of it and continue the upward course u r taking and I'd say you'll do great. Once u hit bottom there's nowhere to go but up! I reallllly hope everything works out!
