On the NYU Supplement, it gives a list of 4 personal statement topics with a space next to each. I have a couple of questions:

1.) Are you supposed to choose one of these personal statement topics to write about, or do you have to write something for all of them?

2.) Are you supposed to write your statements on the supplement or on a separate sheet of paper?

I am pretty frantic right now because I don't know what to do. You would think that a top school like NYU would have instructions that are a bit less vague. Please respond, I am practically pleading for help.

you're supposed to respond to all four (I assume you're talking about the questions that are why do you want to go to nyu beside from the fact that it's in the city, what did you do last sunday, etc..) Also, you are supposed to do it on the supplement itself within those 4 or 5 lines they give you, which should come out to less than 100 words each. Why is this so urgent? The app's not due until jan 15.

It is urgent because my school makes you submit the application through the school guidance office (school policy). There are several reasons why my school does it this way, but I don't have time to get into them now. The due date to my school's office for Jan 15th applications is tomorrow, therefore, I have to finish everything tonight. If you don't get your apps. in tomorrow at my school, you won't be able to send them out to colleges until after Christmas.

Thanks a lot for the clarification. I can finally stop worrying and start answering the questions.

after christmas would still be in time since it doesn't have to arrive until jan 15th, just so you know. of course, if you want to get it in early that's smart too
