Normally if the applicant has attended schools where the classes are taught in English for a certain number of years this requirement is waived. It also may be waived if the applicant has earned a certain score on the ACT or SAT exam. But since each college/university sets its own policy about this, the applicant needs to ask each of them individually.

happymomof1: i actually asked them the same question. i said that she wants to go to High School or pass the GED, but they said that that wouldn’t help her to get admitted into CUNY because they already have her transcript stored in their database. they said the only way she can go to CUNY now is if she transfers from another college…

she’s taken English for 4 years so maybe that’s why she doesn’t need the TOEFL.

i want WES to evaluate her transcript, but first i hvae to call them and ask them the procedure and what not.

also, i went to the site about advising centers in Pakistan. i emailed them and the lady replied and told me to register and i’ll be assigned a personal advisor to help my friend. i told her that we are not in Pakistan, and she said it wouldn’t matter. so i’m waiting for their email.

I truely hope that the EducationUSA counselor can help your friend. Good luck!

thank you so much! all of you, i really appreciate the help! i don’t know what we would do without you guys!
