Hey, I'm a freshman. I have straight A's and a 4.0, but I have one problem. I plan on going to the Kelley School of Business at IU for corporate finance. The reason I'm worried is because most people who have applied to Kelley have taken calculus when they were in twelth grade. Here's my problem:

By time I get to college, I'll be on pre-cal! Do they accept seniors who are taking Trig? I have a 4.0 and I'm in all Honors, does that help? I am freaking out, and on the verge of ditching my investment banking dreams. PLEASE HELP! Thanks...

yes, many indiana students take calc in college

and if you're still that worried, you can take geometry in summer school, like i did. in fact if your school offers it, i would definetly reccomend it, as it's nice to have it out of the way when you get here, even though it is by no means a requirment.

Often precalc includes trig, or alg II includes trig. Thus most freshman doing algebra still have time to get pre-calc in. You might check with your counselor and see if there is a different sequence of math classes.

At my school the pre-calc class basically includes trig so I never had to take that class but no most people don't take calc in high school. Do not worry about it trig is plenty hard enough

Sloooww down, I'm a senior in the Kelley school and the highest math I got to in hs was alg 2. I took calc at IU and got an A, IU isn't as demanding as you're making it out to be. With your kind of motivation why aren't you looking Ivy league?

Thanks appreciate it... Micsteph: No, not really. I'm incredibly athletic, and I wouldn't fit in, if you know what I mean... So that's where Kelley comes in. A very good BS and you can actually be social. Thanks again to the repliers.
