Veteran,5 Years Removed from education(will be)

Alright here's the back story, I enlisted in 2006 directly after High School. As of now Ive served 3.5 years active duty and will be soon ETS'ing. I am planning on returning to structured learning and have my goal set on a degree in Mechanical Engineering (I was in a pre-engineering program for high school and loved the topics covered,so naturally Id want to continue it.)

But anyways, I'm a resident of Massachusetts and am set on Mass schools. Currently looking at UMASS Lowell and Boston University,Mechanical Engineering for both. I understand BU is a quite a reach and UMASS Lowell should be just around or slightly under safety.

My stats aren't the greatest due to lack of motivation in high school but I've come upon a re-invigoration in learning.

GPA: 2.7
SAT:1700 (Taken Oct 09)

So if anyone has any input on my current situation that'd be great.
