I am completely lost. I have no clue how to go about getting into college or anything. I'm working on getting my GED because I dropped out of highschool at the end of Junior year. PLEASE, I don't even know what questions to ask! I wasn't prepared at all during highschool for any of this. I deeply regret not staying and graduating with my class, but that opportunity has passed me by. I will be calling a counselor tomorrow to help me along, but any advice you all could give me would be greatly appreciated.

If you're interested in vet tech, it may be offered at any number of community colleges, and far less costly than at a four year public or private college.

Try using google in a variety of ways: Vet tech schools, vet tech, animal health careers, etc.

If you want to be a vet tech, you have several different options. Typically, vet techs get an associates degree (2-year) from a community college that offers a program for vet techs. However, there are some vet techs who do earn bachelors degrees (4-year) first, but very few schools offer a bachelors degree in veterinary technology. The only one that I know of off the top of my head is Purdue University in Indiana (though I'm sure there's more schools elsewhere). There are different levels of vet techs, and the more schooling you have, the more money you would probably make.

I hope it all works out for you! Even though the money is not the greatest, if you love animals, you'll probably love being a vet tech.

Yep, most Vet Techs are done at a two year school. If you want to become a veterinarian, you can take a pre-vet path at most schools (your major doesn't matter, you can do Biology to Business to anything! I chose Animal Science because you have a chance to actually be hands on with animals). Then after that, study your ass off and apply for vet school.. best of luck! :)
