Video on RD App?

I applied to MIT for early decision and got deferred, and am thinking about ways to improve my applications for regular decision.

I took the SAT and got a 2270 (Math: 780 / Reading: 750 / Writing: 740) since I sent in my early decision application, and I'll put that on there.

I wrote about a hobby of mine (martial arts tricking) in 2 of my essays (what I do for fun and what quality I am most proud of, perseverance), and thought about putting a link to a video sampler in my extra information section, but decided against it. Since I've been deferred, I wanted to know from more experienced college applicants and people familiar with MIT...would adding a link to this be a bad idea?

Here's the video: YouTube - Galen - Tricking 2010

...I know you can't say for sure if it will give me an edge, but what I'm asking is would putting this video on my application be a mistake? Also, would this fall under an art portfolio, or would I just put it in my extra information? Thank you for your help!

Hah!

I don’t think it would be a mistake. The video’s quite neat, and shows perseverance in learning to conquer something over time. (Note, I’m not an Admissions officer, this is not official, etc etc. But the video got me thinking how awesome that was, so I would include it.)

you can send a video through the MYR.

Thank you! I was on the fence about this for a while. Sorry MITChris I’m a bit of a noobie around here, what’s the MYR?

EDIT Ohhh that’s the Midyear Report, correct? Would I just copy and paste the link onto a free response spot, or would I put it in part of an art portfolio-type thing?

^ Midyear Report should be fine.
