Pros/cons of taking him over vollhardt/pederson?

What is his teaching style and how is the grade break up for his class (number of midterms, quizzes, labs etc)?

I loved him! He uses a tablet like Frechet except that he has “fill-in” notes that you print out before class. He is very approachable during office hours and non-intimidating. Even if you ask rather stupid questions like I did. He says he gives about ~20% A’s, but if the class as a whole does really well he will give more A’s. His exams are fair and a lot like the practice ones he gives you. Also, you have a weekly homework quiz that takes place during the last 10 minutes of lecture. As long as you keep up with the material and study for each quiz, there should be no reason to get less than an A.

From his Summer 2009 syllabus:
A (~20%); B (~35%); C (~40%); D, F (~5%)

• Two midterm exams, each worth 160 points.
• One final exam worth 220 points.
• Quizzes worth 100 points.

IMO, Viernes > Pedersen >>>>> Vollhardt

but I might be a little biased :)

awesome! thanks alot :)
