I heard from some people that they post acceptances online first, and a big chunk of them on Wed eves. Not sure if this is true or not, but I am definitely gonna check tonight!

Good luck to all of us still waiting to hear.

Has anyone heard since the first wave??

I’ve been watching and waiting the past 2 weeks as well, since I first noticed that people were starting to hear … and it seems like few if any acceptances have been announced by anyone since that first week. It’s a little hard to tell from people’s posts when Cal Poly’s decision first appeared on their portal page, and I haven’t been able to figure out if there’s any pattern to when/why certain people have heard and others haven’t.

My son’s waiting to hear; he’s a freshman applying for engineering. The waiting is killing me but he seems pretty relaxed about it! He has about a 3.5 and a 31 on the ACT.

I just want the waiting to be over! Thanks historymom for starting the vigil; I’m right in there with you. :)

When my daughter & I visited Cal Poly SLO the last week of January, the admissions rep told us they expect to notify most applicants by the end of February (which obviously is this week). We are still waiting, too. My daughter has applied for Psychology. After visiting Cal Poly, it’s her first choice and the only one we haven’t heard from … sigh.

It’s not looking as though they will finish notifications as expected. Oh well.

Let’s keep our fingers (and toes) crossed ;)

I was sure we would hear either yesterday or today. My hands-on D is the one waiting. It would be a great place for her dag nab it. Should I just call admissions and tell them that they are missing a bet by not letting all of the kids on this thread in? Grrrrr maybe tomorrow morning will be the magic morning but what if we don’t all hear in the second wave either?

Thursday night is Pizza night…as well as Survivor and Office night at my house to I’m taking orders. Homemade pizza, made to order for all! Cokes for the Kids and Beer and Wine for the grownups. What do you want?

Wait…when is the second wave? did it start this week?

We don’t know tenh, honestly we would think this week would be the 3rd wave, since 2 weeks was supposedly the first wave. I just checked my portal and and nothing yet. I called admissions last week, but from what someone posted above us, I too heard something similar to that where they were going to be done with admissions process by this weekend. So hopefully this means we’ll hear something soon regardless.

Yes, historymom, please call and tell them the error of their ways. I’ll just hang out back here and give you moral support :)

I’m guessing the admission notifications have fallen behind the original schedule. We were very surprised when the admissions presenter stated during our visit that they expected all decisions by Feb. 27th. She also told us Cal Poly was actively recruiting out of state applicants. In my mind, I thought “well, duh, of course they are … cha-ching, more money!” Good thing I didn’t say it out loud … would have ruined my daughter’s chances completely.

Oh well, so we wait BIG sigh

Enjoy your pizza night, historymom. I’ll pass on the pizza but a nice glass of red wine, anything that’s not too dry, would be awesome. Oh heck, I’ll take a whole bottle tonight!

Cheers!

has anyone called admissions this week though?

Anyone hear anything yet? seems like a lot of maintance is happening tomorrow morning. Maybe thats a sign but who knows.

Well, I had high hopes of hearing something when the portal was down this morning – but it’s up now and still “no determination.” Grrr.

I haven’t checked yet, im waiting till after all the maintenance is done even though it shouldnt matter anyways haha. But welcome to the club of people who haven’t heard yet and are attempting to wait patiently to hear something soon.

So we’re pretty sure that wed is when acceptances will be done. I forgot who said so, but it sounded like that if you hadn’t heard by wed, you weren’t in.

From what we’ve been heard, and been told, you should hear something regardless of the decision no later than wednesday. The question is, if we don’t hear anything or see anything by wednesday do we call or what.

Calling is too intimidating for me personally…to be told whether i’m in/not in over the phone does not entice me at all. I hope it doesn’t come down to that…it’s sunday, i’m doing hw, but all i’m thinkin about is college…great.

trust me i know how you feel, I have a geology test tomorrow, not too worried about it since its a lot easier than most of my classes im taking but still I want to hear to get it done and over with.

My friend applied for Business Administration, I believe, and is still waiting. She’s been rather depressed that most of our classmates have heard so far by Cal Poly SLO, but she hasn’t. :(

im in the same boat as your friend rameez :/

sigh…Hi you guys, i was sure there would be something to report at this point but I have tosay I was relieved that when I came here no one had heard. I was afraid if you all had been accepted than my D would have been rejected since she hadn’t heard.

There is a common denominator for the kids who have heard at our high school, they were all top 10%. My D who has not heard yet is top 15% and another girl from our hs is to 25% . Any such pattern for you all? I know trying to figure out all the angles so we can predict the future is silly but dang I wish she had some sort of news.

so historymom, if maybe what your saying is true about they may be possibly evaluating the top tier students first, how do you think they would do it for transfer students, since technically were competing with all community colleges? Do you think maybe they would get all the transfer students for a particular major sorted together and then select the top 10% for that group and then just evaluate with whoever is left? I think you could be getting somewhere. I hope your daughter hears though, as I hope we all hear this week.
