Vigil for those still waiting to hear

I am confused by how they are choosing. Sorry to **** and moan again, but I haven’t heard anything. Here are my corresponding stats to three students that I know got accepted:

I have talked directly with these people, so sorry if it looks like I have quadruple of everyone else. I am a little sour, but what am I to think when I’ve worked hard at this. If they were choosing top tier first, I wonder what I did wrong. I applied early and I am in a smaller demographic, so what the hell SLO?

oh yeah thats true infinity, so that means my theory is out of the question, I hope we hear tomorrow, but i will say this infinity if you don’t get in you have a legitimate case in calling them and confront them on what the deal is.

I’m in the top ten of my high school, of 500 students. out of the ten, I am the only one to apply to cal poly, and I still have not heard anything. I know of other people ranked under me that have applied and not heard yet also. If they’re doing it by rank, I hope I haven’t missed my chance. I’m beyond frustrated, I’m a little ****ed off I haven’t gotten ANYTHING yet. Some notice or something…

my friends and family want to appeal that school to death if they don’t take me. But, maybe it’s just not for me if I don’t get in. Honestly, I’ll be heartbroken if I can’t get into a M.Arch program later down the line. I want to study in England, there’s a dual honors program in Architecture and Structural Engineering.

Honestly i only know you through this forum, but from the stats i’ve seen of people getting into architecture I would appeal for you as well if you didn’t get in because your stats are better, not to take anything against the people that got accepted but i mean thats unjustified and wack. I’m really starting to wonder if they just pick you out of a hat lol. Or in this case a computer programmed lottery.

i;m in top 10%…3.57 ACT 32 (around SAT 2100)
oh well
i’m jsut gonna wait it out
only a few more days…
heh

well today’s monday, 2 more days to go…swell…

Sorry to report that rejections are being posted to the portal today; son’s status changed to “You have not been selected for admission to Cal Poly.” He applied for engineering, with a 3.5 UW GPA and 31 ACT.

damn same here. oh well, SDSU here i come

As I posted on the other thread, my daughter also received the dreaded rejection. Yes, it stings, but as I told her, they don’t know her as a person, just as statistics … don’t take it personally as it’s not a measure of complete success or failure.

Good luck to the rest of the folks waiting and wondering.

SDSU or ASU … hmmmmm.

wow i was rejected…im kinda surprised- i saw people with 3.28s get in…
at least i’ve gotten into a few other places (i actually thought of SLO as a safety lol)

Rejected!

I applied into Psychology…

GPA : 4.1 weighted
SAT : 1910 (cr:700 math:610 writing:600)
3 years varsity tennis
4 years GSA
2 years high school orchestra
1 year UC Riverside college-level orchestra

I also though of SLO as a bit of a safety, ha, guess I was wrong!

D and I thought it was a match for her but I guess they didn’t. Curse word Curse word Curse word!

My mom and I thought the same thing for me. This was a terrible monday. What is your plan-b school? I’m lookin at davis, thanks to being elc…

This was the first denial for her after 6 acceptances and she is still waiting on UCD and UCSC.

Where has she been accepted to? I did SC and D too.

Infinitywolf and Ji.rvin, sorry about the rejections. I was rooting for you guys, you were in the same boat as I. SLO seems to have disappointed many this year.

Good luck with your other schools though.

thanks mediocre, hopefully the waitlist pulls through and a spot opens up for you. I thought for sure I would of atleast got in as waitlist, since I had all the criteria done. But I will never know how the decisions come. No matter what I’ll be pulling for you hoping a spot opens for you.

Thanks dude. Did you apply for CP pomona also?

nope, now that i think about it, i should of, but i applied to uc’s. The way i see it, if im unhappy i’ll just apply again to transfer next year even though i heard its harder.
