Villa no fun?

I have heard life for freshman and sophmores can be somewhat uneventful. Could you tell me how hard it is to party? Are the RAs really uptight? What would happen if I came back to my dorm room drunk? Would the RAs be a dick? I heard something about fines? How easy is it to get kicked out for partying too much? If someone that actually attends or knows a thing or two reply. I don't want any my friend went their 10 years ago stuff.

If your main concern about Villanova is partying,i suggest you save your parents some serious $$$ and go to a CC…

Hey buddy I have another thread about academic quality. If you don’t want to answer the question then don’t reply.

…and also save some of us parents who will be shelling out serious $$, from having a partier such as yourself as our kid’s roommate.

If you raised your kids well enough it shouldn’t be a problem.

Nicky dont worry about who responded so far. They are under the impression kids just go to college to have their head in a textbook and not grow socially, make connections and for a young kid to “learn about themselves” living away from home for the first time.

It’s not bad that your concerned about having something to do thursday- saturday.

Take a look at the recent suicides at Cornell. They felt overwhelmed by all the work and did not spend alot of time searching the social scene. I would love to hear Archiemom and Qdogpa’s response to that.

I’ll be honest, i dont know much about Villanova, but i heard from my friend that lives in Philly that it really is Villa No Fun.

Listen child, i don’t espouse(look it up,it’ll help your education) NOT to have fun and experiences at college…But to ask about partying in the context you did shows that your concerns are NOT about education, but how much “partying” you can do…And in case you are unaware, the LEGAL drinking age is 21…So Nicky,Google “party schools” maybe you’ll find a school you’d like, where your major could be “partying”

The context stands there for a reason. I was trying to get in depth answers. When you ask how is the party scene? You get a “not much to do on weekends” or “their is a lot to do on the weekends.” This really doesn’t help me at all. It is way to vague.

2.College Confidential wasn’t created to judge what type of question are asked.

3.You know what attending a party school wouldn’t save my parents any money?
I got accepted to UIUC, but they don’t give much for scholarships. By going to nova I would be saving around 20 grand a year over UIUC ( your next comeback is going to be that I will drop out and waste the rents money). Look up Tucker Max. He partied extremely hard and studied hard ( graduated from Uchicago with honors).

I’m not sure who you are referring to as a child but to be honest all that did was digress (Look it up, it will keep you occupied) from the topic. Because a kid questions the partying at the school does NOT mean they are not concerned about education, its almost comical that qdogpa would suggest that hahahaha. “Are there any parties at this school, i want to have fun?”. …" Hey if you want to party go to community college, and your underage"… God that response is so mint.

Jmac24 I really think I getting under this guys skin. It’s making my day.

Hardly…The emphasis on the OP was partying and what might happen if he came back drunk to his room, not education or even a question about nightlife at 'Nova…If partying and drinking is forefront on your college search, i can assure you 'Nova or BC will not make your list…That is MINT, right Jimmy Mac?

hey qdogpa you attend Nova or BC? Ever hear of the motto work hard play hard for B.C.? If you don’t know anything about what the OP asked, why are you still around? I already know more about VSB than I could ever need to know. If I wanted to talk about the finance department, I would have asked about it. Just because you cannot fathom what happens at college, doesn’t mean you have to take it out on me. (P.S. your D is pry ugly)

Very mature Nicky, very mature…enjoy your college life…Be it filled with hours of Happy hours, and remember…“Would you like that supersized?” as your job after hours of Happy hours will need you to say this ;)

You didn’t answer the question. Did you or did you not attend nova or bc?

Wow your a pretty negative guy. I sense some hatred. Get picked on too much when you were little? Daddy not show you any love? Just let it out big man!

P.S. Mcdonalds seems to be a little overpriced anyway. Burger king looks like a better investment. I’m more of a value stock guy.

wow nicky32 you are a total arrogant dbag…why dont you actually check your ego before posting here…that being said, to get back on track with the original intent of the thread, if you are looking for crazy animal house frat parties then dont come here…the frats do throw decent parties, but they are not on the level of schools with houses on campus…villanova has a reputation for being a bar school, and there are several great bars here on the main line…finding something to do thurs-sat is not hard, and you can go out as much or as little as you like…the ra’s vary from being really chill to being complete pricks…its just luck of the draw…my feeling is that you will lose all of your friends as a result of your shi*ty personality by week 3 of first semester and thus you wont have to worry about getting kicked out for excessive partying…enjoy college kid, you have a lot of growing up to do before you get here/there

I’m not there yet, but have friends in the region and have talked to a lot at Nova. Most parties are at U Penn. Greek Life is promising, esp. since you are male. I hear first-year males have a hard time getting into parties. Either way, there will be something to do

that is true in some sense of the meaning…yes alot of kids do go off campus to upenn, but i would not say that most do on a regular basis… that being saidt alot of the frat stuff is off campus…the frats have their pledges run rides to/from the parties, it’s really not too hard if you are social and know people…as for freshmen guys getting into parties, it really is not too much of an issue if you are willing to shell out 3-5 bucks to cover whatever expenses they had, not too unreasonable…the girls get in free at just about every place…i will say that nova is a big bar school because of the lack of frat houses on campus…there are some great bars on the main line, so if one is so inclined, a fake might be in order, not that i am endorsing such behavior…freshman year you will find yourself initially going to a lot of frat parties, then you will discover the wonderful joys to be had on west ;)

I have heard life for freshman and sophmores can be somewhat uneventful.
depends how eventful you try to make it

Could you tell me how hard it is to party?
if you’re a girl, not hard at all
esp. if you join a sorority

Are the RAs really uptight?
depends on the RA, you’ll quickly know who to avoid at all costs and who’s chill

What would happen if I came back to my dorm room drunk?
absolutely nothing if you can handle your alcohol
if you can’t and you’re about to die then you likely get VEM’d by someone so you don’t die of alcohol poisoning
or if you act like a fool in front of public safety then you get VEM’d and written up and it’s case by case basis but i assume you get a series of warnings

Would the RAs be a dick?
not unless you make it ridiculously clear that you’re drunk
they’re kids like you so most won’t do anything unless, as mentioned, you look like you’re about to die / are being blatantly drunk in front of them

I heard something about fines?
usually that’s if you host and you have it around in your room or on you etc.

How easy is it to get kicked out for partying too much?
i’ve only heard of kids being moved around and maybe a few that get kicked off campus on the weekends for multiple violations

(current student)

"If you raised your kids well enough it shouldn’t be a problem. "

Sounds like you want to be a finance major Nicky32. I’m guessing you’ll fit in just fine with the arrogant know-it-all types that populate Wall Street.
