Villanova 2018 Regular Decision

Hey guys...I thought I would start a thread for regular decision chatter to Nova. If/when you hear back from Nova, please feel free to post your acceptances/rejections here. Stats are always good too. Good luck to all!

When do you expect decisions since it says “By late March”? Does anyone know what date they came out last year?

I thought maybe it would be the 3rd week of March.
Yes, does anyone know when they released last year?

I note that financial aid awards can be viewed on 3/28, so one would think admissions decisions have to be out before then. That is 3 weeks from today. Seems like an eternity.

Yes, it does seem like eternity. Maybe we will here by 3/21. :)

hear

We just completed a campus tour and presentation today. The admissions representative said that decisions should be posted on MyNova by March 19-20 with letters being mailed at the same time.

Was anyone deferred to regular admission, waiting to hear back?

@heff2018 I was deferred!

I was deferred. Is Nova your first choice? It’s definitely mine, and the waiting is killing me. Heard they received a record number of applications (over 17k). My qualifications are in the range, but not at the top of the range. Dad and older brother both graduated from Nova. It’s really wearing on me…

It WAS my first choice until I got deferred haha. I began to consider UCONN more, and now they’re tied for first. Wait listed at UConn for nursing because my school messed up my transcript. 1860 SAT, so low for Nova. I had good contact with the head of nursing at Nova but I’m not sure what’s going to happen. The wait sucks!

@readytohear you’ll be fine where ever you end up. I applied to Villanova as my reach school so I really would like to get in but I also got into some other really great schools. But wow 17K applicants!

heff2018 and kayyx3dee - good luck! What other schools. I WISH I could feel the same way about the other schools I have been, and expect to be, accepted to…but my heart is really at Villanova and has been since I was about 4 years old. It doesn’t help that it feels like the rest of the world already knows what they’re doing!

@juldad. Correct and exact information…glad you kept your ears open.

I heard back from Marquette University and most likely will accept admission there. Although I do like Villanova because it is very close to home! GOOD LUCK!!

check back in when you hear. I hope everything turns out the way you want it to!

I was deferred to Villanova but accepted to university of maryland honors college and unconn. Not sure I care about Villanova anymore. I had 1950 sat and ranked 4/175 with a gpa of 98.7

Someone told me that Villanova only takes people with insanely high SATs for EA, and then the people with decent scores get accepted RD. Not sure how true this is…

@kayyx3dee I heard the same thing. I also was deferred to regular admission. Biology major with a minor in Bioengineering. Fingers crossed and looking forward to 3/19 - 3/20!

I heard the same thing Kayyx3dee. I also heard an admissions person explain (off the record) that they are using EA to capture very highly qualified candidates who use Nova as their safety school by giving them EA. A week from today seems like an eternity.
