Villanova 2018 Regular Decision

Does anyone know if you get merit aid in your acceptance letter or do they send it in a different letter if they decide to give it to you?

wait listed…dont have enough time to post my stats but for future references you can message me on here!
31 act…3.95 gpa…multiple service/extracurriculars with leadership
just a little bit confused right now?!?

Here’s what I don’t understand about being Waitlisted. Am I just supposed to depend on the chance of getting accepted or do I waste around $500 on a deposit to another school while I wait? And how does the other school handle this? If you aren’t notified of admission until mid-late June, what happens if you miss things like orientation or you get put into an overcrowded dorm? I’m conflicted as to remain on the Waitlist or accept that it was not in Gods path for me to attend and move on?

Accepted to College of Liberal Arts & Sciences!
GPA: 3.9
ACT: 30

Good luck to everyone! Don’t let college decisions get you down - they don’t determine your self-worth, and they’re definitely not an indicator of your intelligence :)

I was accepted to the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

2140 SAT
3.67/4.00 GPA
Good Essay

I heard the aid is terrible, so will most probably not attend. Good news to wait listed students.

Waitlisted:

GPA: 3.70 unweighted; 3.82 weighted
SAT II: 680 Math II
4 AP’s/all honors
4 seasons of varsity soccer; 4 seasons varsity Track

@golfbs14- There are many sources for waitlist strategies. Yes, you do need to commit to another school because the odd of getting off of the waitlist for many schools is quite low. However, there are ways to make yourself known to admissions. If you truly want the school, you need to tell them in no uncertain terms you will attend and financial aid cannot a factor if you accept. The school aid money is already gone. From what I have learned from a college admissions person is males tend to take their names off (you don’t want me, I don’t want you) so this could work for or against you depending on your sex.

The schools where you put money down keep your money. They know some will withdraw and in part that is why notifications for getting off a waitlist can take until mid-summer.

has anyone from RD gotten an invite to the honors program yet?

For those on the waitlist, are you accepting waitlist and if so what college did you apply to?
P.S. I heard they are most likely not using it this year, because they already got a high number of enrollments from early action people.

Great Financial Aid Package. I am definitely going. :)

Does Villanova not offer Presidential Scholarships like other schools in which you don’t need to apply, but they just give you merit-based aid?

Accepted to College of Engineering (Chemical engineers, hit me up! I haven’t met many going to Nova)
SAT: 2000 (700- math, 680-reading, 620-writing)

I’m a member of our school’s Key Club and National Honor Society, both very volunteer oriented. Gymnastics since I was 3, track since 8th grade. All together, I took 6 ap classes, 3 my senior year.
