Anyone know when they usually start notifying students of their EA acceptances/denials?

It’s on their website:

Early Decision
Deadline: November 1
Notification: by December 20

Early Action
Application Deadline: November 1
Notification: by January 15

Regular Decision
Deadline: January 15
Notification: by April 1

Thanks. I was hoping sooner!

when have people found out in previous years? what are the chances that we will find out before the new year? also if i am being considered for presidential scholarship will that delay my notification?

I’m also wondering whether they might begin to make EA decisions prior. Had anyone ever received an EA decision prior to their stated date if they were not being recruited for sports? ( my son applied for engineering)

Last year was the first year the Villanova had an Early Decision option. Two years ago, my daughter applied EA and was accepted around December 20. But, now with ED, EA decisions will come out in January as @vamom4 shows above.

Last year the ED was released Dec 15 and EA Dec 20. This year might be something similar. In schools that also offer EDII (Nova does not offer) the EA is pushed really late in January as the school wants to see the EDII pool before releasing EA. Also more spaces are taken with two rounds of ED. In my experience when a school offers ED the EA option has less advantages and when a school offers EDII as well then EA is pretty much meaningless. Just an opinion though.

It would be great to hear about EA in December. Applying to EA is a signal to many schools that the applicant shows greater interest. That being said, Villanova accepts highly competitive applicants at EA (you can see that stats online) and many are deferred to RD. According to Villanova’s website, most students that choose to attend Villanova are those accepted during RD.

I’m worried because a lot of people from my school applied ED. Does anyone know if Villanova defers EA applicants?

Yes, you can get deferred. But I believe you can also get denied. But if your stats are in the ballpark I doubt you will get denied.

I heard EA notices go out January is that true?

From there tweet it makes it sound like ED will be in december and EA will be in january:

Early Decision announcements for the Class of 2023 will be posted to your portal after 5 p.m. EST on December 20. You will receive an email when decisions are live. Early Action decisions are scheduled to be released by January 15. More details to come in the new year. #GoingNova

@mathlov

Releasing EA in January is something new…my daughter found out EA 4 years ago in December…must have something to do with ED…actually not a very nice move on the part of Nova…release ED and EA at the same time as many other schools do such as Fordham

Son’s ‘Financial Aid’ tab disappeared today. Anyone else?

mine did too

They must be doing some work with them.

It was there earlier today. Now it is not.

My D’s is gone as well.

Anyone else doing the Presidential Scholarship
Essays? There are about 8 of them. They are due prior to being Accepted. Found that odd bc students might have to prepare theses 8 essays for a school they could be Denied and Nova has to read essays from students they might not admit. Seems like they would move the deadline past the Decision date ?‍♀️ Easier on everyone.
