Villanova - Class of 2023 - Early Action Discussion/Decisions

@Dleden There is a new thread about this “Honors” portal update. Did everyone get this update on their portal? If you check, is there a message that your are/are not considered for Honors Program? Thanks in advance for any information.

@Oneiota2 Yeah dude I am sorry… you had the better stats. This process is totally random. It makes no sense, there is no formula. Something in my favor is that I go to a very elite school in New York City. That helps me a lot. Also, my grades have gotten much better and in IB classes, that’s very impressive to them. Also, my essays were extremely strong.

Getting rejected sucks so much, I got rejected early decision and it sucked. Anyways, good luck with NYU, I go to school right next to there.

Oh and again it’s very important to note for everyone: this is by far Villanova’s most competitive year ever. They have so many apps and most of the applicants are qualified. That’s why it’s so random.

Has anyone received admission packet yet? Thanks

Just received it in the mail today @2019md

My son also not accepted in Honors program. No packet in mail yet (live in Michigan). Nothing about St. Augustine Scholarship invitation. Anybody receive yet?

weird that they delivered it on MLK day

Has anybody received the St. Augustine scholarship invitation?

Villanova 2018-2019 CDS Statistics:

GPA Weighted: 4.19
GPA Unweighted: 3.86
ACT Scores: 30-33 average
SAT Scores: 1385 average
Top 10%: 69%
Acceptance rate: 29%

@villanovarising - thank you for posting the statistics! One quick question . . . what does CDS stand for?

@familyfromLI Common Data Set

@am9799 did you get to that through the Villanova website or did you go right to CDS?

@am9799 - Thank you!

Maybe this is a stupid question, but if the average SAT score was a 1385 with an average UW score of 3.86 - does that mean that students who were deferred from EA to RD with stats above that now stand any better chance of admission as RD applicants (assuming decent EC’s, etc. etc.)?

Probably not because the data is based on last year’s enrolled students (class of 2022).

The class of 2023 is a lot better and will have better statistics.

Bummer :frowning:
