Hello all,
D is a senior in HS, she was put on deferral at Villanova. She is a diligent student with excellent extracurriculars and a very strong GPA. One of her AP classes this year is giving her a hard time. She is considering withdrawing from the class. Is this frowned upon? She has a 75 in the class so I believe it would be better for her to drop rather than stick it though. How would colleges look at this, esp Villanova? Advice?
I don’t think that your daughter should drop the class. Honestly, I think it would make her look like she quits when things don’t go her way - it would be better for her to do her best and send a note to the college(s) explaining the effort she has put forth.
If she drops the class she would have to notify every college she applied to.
If she is borderline on a D, I would have her dropped the course. But then I am not an admission officer.
