What'd you all think? Feel free to throw chances up for Bucknell RD as well...

I have a friend with very similar scores/ECs as you who applied EA to Nova last year but got deferred. However he’s from VA and finished 5th in a large public school, I think his class last year was about 450. Your grades are definitely there and your ECs and sports are top-notch. (One thing you have over my friend is that you played sports all for years compared to his varsity letter from freshman year only). I think you’re a sure bet acceptance.

I don’t know much about Bucknell, but with everything you’ve got you seem a strong bet. BTW…my friend was accepted regular decision at Nova and loves it there. So if you are deferred, I’m sure you’ll get in regular decision.

Thanks betweenthetrees… my fingers will be crossed. Good luck to you with W&M and the rest, I hope it works out!

Also forgot to add that I’ve taken all honors courses throughout HS and will finish with 5 APs (4 in my senior year) which in context of my HS is the 2nd most demanding schedule any student has.

Ok… I have often thought these schools were pretty evenly matched, but Bucknell might have a bit of a better rep, and I am applying RD to Bucknell so that sounds about right.

I think you have a very good chance based on the average applicant’s profile. You’re test scores put you at or above the 75 percentile and your ECs are looking fine. Assuming your essays aren’t terrible I’d say you’re a match. PM me and let me know how it goes when you learn.

Will do Knockaround! My essays I thought were quite solid, and I still forgot to mention my guidance counselor hinted that my English and Math recs (as well as hers) were some of the best she’s ever seen…

No worries, I’m curious as I’m applying to W&M as well and recognize it is a reach for me… however the interview went well so I’ll be interested to see.

The interview was my favorite part of the application. I don’t see it as that big a reach for you; If you were in state I think you would definitely get in so it’s worth a shot even if you’re oos!
