@Patsyclarkstown
Last year kids heard about honors program in a separate letter or email a few days after acceptance notification. I think it was around Dec 27th according to last year’s thread.
Accepted to VBS!
Congrats and best wishes to everyone in your impending college decisions. May God bless you all. Go Nova!
@Patsyclarkstown - I’m with you. The website says that Honors students will be notified of their admission into the program “at the time of acceptance,” and on the right-hand side of my portal it says that an offer cannot be extended at this time. I’m curious as to whether this means I did not qualify, or if notifications will soon be released separately as @DoingOurBest suggested.
Has anyone received notification that they are officially in the Honors program?
the HONORS decisions are posted on your portal to the Right of the link to the status update
the V website says that the HONORS program is full for class of 2022. You can apply after you accept and admit, May1.
Interesting…we don’t have anything at all referencing honors. On the right of the page we see links for early action weekend, admitted students receptions, letter from VSB Dean, copy-a-cat, and housing. Nothing at all about honors…even though my dd indicated she was interested in honors program.
family friend accepted CAS EA found out about honors college with acceptance (today)
deferred from VSB…honestly wasn’t really expecting that. 33 ACT, 4.2 WGPA, IB Diploma and 2 APs, lots of ECs with leadership roles. guess its my fault for getting my hopes up, but im kind of crushed. should i even bother with filling out the presidential scholarship application?
Question, does anybody know where info online is about accepted students day???
So daughter got in EA last year as a Direct Admit to the Business School only to find out our family had to pay the full sticker price and no merit aid. Great to get in and accepted, but no way were we going to pay $68k a year. Beware of the sticker price at Nova. Found another top 7 undergrad Business School for 1/2 the price.
Accepted CLAS: 32 ACT, 4.5 GPA (weighted)
@gopher119 where did your daughter end up going?
Accepted VSB!!! SAT 1430, 101.4 GPA, 3rd in class (super competitive class) Business experience, dance teacher (so lots of leadership)
I don’t see anything on the right side of my portal… Is everyone else seeing an honors program thing there? I see all the links to the letter from VSB and EA student night or whatever.
on the right side of my portal it states “At this time, we are unfortunately unable to extend an offer to join the Honors Program. Please note that additional openings may become available after May 1, 2018 to first-year students who have enrolled at Villanova. Should you be interested in being further considered for this opportunity at that time, please contact honorsprogram@villanova.edu.”
@mkcblackberry yeah I asked my friend where she saw that and my page literally doesn’t have a section for the “honors program status” or whatever. Maybe I should give them a call and ask tomorrow…?
Has anyone 1 been accepted with a Scholarship to Villanova?
Kelley
Daughter accepted to engineering
34 ACT
4.0 (UW) GPA
12 APs
NHS President, varsity athlete, lots of community service, completed a summer internship at a material science company–no special hooks/not legacy, etc
It says on their website that merit scholarship information for EA students is sent out at the end of January. Also I read somewhere on their website that very few engineering students are accepted in to honors. I am assuming honors may require extra time commitment and they feel engineering is already challenging?
@mccurk pertaining to honors, that is probably very likely. It does add classes on. My son is struggling with his majors to find the spots for those specific classes in his schedule. He also told me that he thinks they only award honors to somewhere between 5-10% of the incoming freshmen.
