How prestigious do you all consider Villanova to be as?

What other schools would you compare on the same level as Villanova? It is equal in prestige to schools such as Bucknell and Lehigh?

Certainly, prestige isn't the deciding factor in my search of colleges. I'm just asking this out of curiosity. I'm just wondering what you all think. :) thanks

Villanova is very highly regarded in track and field circles. It's very prestigious to run for Villanova. For academic prestige I'm less certain.

Yeah, I remember Wild Cats upset Patrick Ewing's Hoyas in the NCAA championship game (right?... man, I vaguely remember). For academic prestige, my take on that is Lehigh>Bucknell>Wild Cats

I would say Bucknell >= Lehigh > Villanova. Villanova is roughly comparable to BU, American or GWU and probably stronger than Providence or Northeastern.

I've only met two alums who thought the academics were challenging/worthwhile. The rest said they wished they'd reached higher when they were applying to colleges.

Most of the Villanovans I know (and I know a bunch!) think it's an awesome school and they are happy with their education. It's a bunch of genuinely nice people. There's a very strong 'family' feeling among the alumni. The new president is wonderful, has been associated with the school for a long time, and was a very popular professor before his new assignment.

i know 2 kids who already transferred out of the freshman class, called it villanofun as well...they did like going into philly often..my D did not get accepted (deferred, waitlisted, disappeared into cyberland)so we did not have to deal with this..
