My son applied as a sophomore transfer to Villanova mainly on the recent rankings of their business school. As I look through the posts there is a lot of criticism of Villanova as a school. Since we are in Southern Cal and don't know a lot about it can anyone shed more light on this?

Well, I cant say much for the business school, as I am currently in Arts and Sciences, but as a freshman, I do have plenty of criticism of Villanova as a whole. If your son is not religious (Catholic, specifically), I would not suggest that he attend. Catholicism is HUGE on campus and its presence, to me, is overbearing.
Also, diversity is a problem. Yes, we do have some minority students but there is little interaction. The lack of diversity is shown in every class--- the most non-white students in one of my classes was probably about 3-- in a class of about 40.
Housing is a huge problem, and as a sophmore transfer, your son wont have the best options. He might get put on south campus, which is where most freshmen live, or on west campus, where most juniors live. The "best" place for a sophmore to live is in the Quad... but most likely he wont get it.
Anyways, i'm a freshmen, trying to transfer, so i'm a little biased against Vanilla-nova... but if you have any questions, feel free to ask
