Has anyone heard from villanova about the presidential scholarship application? My guidance counselor nominated me and I applied about a month ago but I have not heard anything about the scholarship application yet. Thanks

Bump…

Yes, my daughter received the email about a week ago. It’s not due back until January, so you do have some time, but I would call and check on it.

Hi Im sorry to hijack your thread. Im a junior in HS & Villanova is one of the schools I’m interested in. I know this scholarship is based on merit and minority. I am not an ethnic minority, however I have cerebral palsy making me a minority of students in a way. Would I qualify?

There are some that are based on minority but majority are merit based. Not too many either way and competitive is my understanding.

Agador. Thanks. How long after your daughter applied did she get the application? Did it come in mail, email or via my nova. Thanks

My daughter got an email but the information and links to the application are also in her my nova account. Try logging on. If it’s not there, I’d give a call.

Also, I think it was about 2 or 3 weeks after she applied that she received the email.

Thanks. Came the other day. All set now

Anyone know how selective this is? Has anyone on here received this scholarship, and what were their stats like?

I was reading up on Villanova’s presidential scholarship and I believe only 25 students are awarded this scholarship. 6 out of the 25 of these scholarships are reserved for minorities.

I saw that too, but I was wondering if anyone knew how many people applied or the SAT/ACT/Rank of people who got it

usually there are about a handful of presidential scholarships given to each school (business, engineering, nursing, and A&S)… I know three presidential scholars from the business school in my year, and they are on full rides (including tuition as well as room & board)… but heard from a PS last spring that the scholarship now only offers free tuition… either way, it’s still a great deal and opportunity… also, as far as criteria for PS… I’ve heard high SATs and lots of community service play a big factor in the interview process/decision and one of our PS was accepted to Wharton, but turned its business school down for a full ride here… great business school, highly recommend attending!

good luck everyone! the scholarship is still full tuition, room, board, books, and fees. definitely an incredibly valuable scholarship. it was my deciding factor in choosing Villanova and I am 100% sure I made the right choice.

Since its so competitive, ACT / SAT scores only can get you so far. I think if you’re past the 75th percentile it doesn’t really make much of a difference. The extracurricular achievements that you have are what are going to separate you and you get a chance to show them on the short answer part of the Presidential Scholar application.

With the presidential scholarship essays due by jan 15, does that mean we have until midnight on the 15th to upload the doc via MyNova? Meaning tomorrow night?
