As per Villanova Enrollment Statistics for school year 2007-08, average sat for enrolled (not admitted) is 1276 cr+m , 1905 including writing. 25/75 percentile is 1210/1360 & 1800/1920.
ACT avg is 28.74 , with 25/75 percentile 27-31.
Standardized test requirements are rigorous , but not to the extent of some of the previous posts.

i have been accepted into nova biz and bc arts and sciences so i have a tough choice. which do you thinnk would be better to attend?

The 25/50/75 SAT numbers for the enrolled class of 2008-2009 at Villanova are 1200/1295/1390 (math/reading) according to Collegeboard.com. Just thought updated numbers would be helpful to prospective students.

jcg1323, I'd say 'Nova all the way. VSB is great, lots of national recognition (#12 in the country, someone correct me if this is wrong). I know a kid who just graduated and landed an amazing job at an NYC investment firm within 2 months.

Actually, 13th. (12th was the year before).

I'm currently a freshman enrolled in the business program here at Villanova and it is without a doubt, a top 25 business school. First, recruitment here at nova is top notch as the best firms, as well as a myriad of other companies, visit Villanova and collect as many resumes as they can get. We frequently have career fairs and every week there are recruiters here looking for interns. There are also a ton of resources to help you get started, such as the Career Services Office (who look over your resume, do practice interviews, ect.) and the Villanova Alumni Base. I've done thorough research on the types of business firms that recruit at colleges and Villanova exceeds most, especially Lehigh.
Secondly, the finance lab in the business school is essentially identical to the software, setup, and information seen in a real financial firm. Many finance classes are held in this room and its a great tool for students to immerse themselves in the world of stocks and other securities.
Thirdly, average SAT scores to those enrolled and admitted has been on the rise the past five years, reflecting an improvement and renewed competitiveness in the school.

Villanova fails to get the recognition it deserves because it doesn't offer any PhD programs, so its ineligible for many of the U.S. News rankings. However, there are long-term plans for Villanova to begin rolling out extensive PhD programs, but this goal won't be reached for at least another 15 years.

The other ballooning problem I see in our school is our small endowment fund (meaning not a lot of financial aid) and the weakening economies negative effect on the type and breadth of courses available. Some courses, and one major (German), had to be eliminated this spring semester because of the economy.

Business Week already ranked 'Nova 12th or 13th for their undergrad business school, so VSB is clearly getting recognition. What were your stats lol?

Business Week just ranked VSB #11 in the nation.

yea that is the new rank for 2009. Villanova seems like an up and comer.

I would really love to go there, im a junior right now, and feel like Villanova is my top choice. Im an international student and would like to know how the international community is like at VU.

I got a 1280 on my SAT excluding Writing

Reading 690

Math 590

What are my chances?

bump bump anyone? :(

The international community at Villanova is only growing and becoming more diverse. In fact, about a third of my friends are from other countries, though this ratio is probably rare amongst other students. Also, half of Villanova students study abroad at some point in the college years.

As for your chances, you need to bump up the math score to have a fair chance. A strong GPA and ranking will help you out too! Good luck.

why isn’t villanova ranked by us news anyways?

US News ranks Villanova as #1 among the northern region universities.
[Villanova University - Best College - Education - US News](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/villanova-pa/villanova-3388)

Villanova is not ranked in USNWR “National Rankings” because it does not offer Doctoral degrees. Villanova has been ranked #1 in The regional North category for a number of years.

USNWR defines :

Regional Universities

Regional Universities offer a full range of undergrad programs and some master’s programs but few doctoral programs. These rankings are split into four regions: North, South, Midwest, and West.

Villanova has been increasing its need based aid for the last couple years. Last year, it met 87% of need, which is not as much as the richest colleges, but is more than most. Villanova gives out a higher percentage of need vs. merit aid than many colleges.

Also, while many colleges have been eliminating programs, Villanova just added two majors. A number of profs received tenure from Villanova in the last couple years, vs. a number of colleges are using large numbers of part-time underpaid and overworked instructors.

As noted above, for almost all colleges except the very top ones, the stats for accepted students are higher than the stats for enrolled students. That is because the top students have so many choices.

Villanova is ranked #1 for northern regional colleges. If ranked nationally, based on the 2011 US News, I would guess it would fall between 45 - 50. Univ of Miami is 47 this year and it’s a great school. I think BU and Syracuse are in the 50s. Once you get in the high 30s, 40s and 50s, it’s all about what you’re studying and what you make of it.
