Got into Richmond and Notre Dame, among many others, so I’m very confused why I wasn’t accepted here.

Villanova’s applicant pool is significantly bigger therefore their acceptance rate dropped like crazy (this is mostly bc of march madness). I’m 2016 it went from 49% to 43% and I wouldn’t be surprised if it dropped by a larger amount this year. I’m waitlisted too so I feel ur pain haha I have a 32 ACT also

Is there a GroupMe or Facebook group I can join?

I talked to my guidance counselor today, applicant pool at Villanova went up by more than 20% from last year… that probably explains all the waitlists!

@brbradbury I wonder what the acceptance rate was

Probably 38-40 percent overall according to sources (it was 43 percent last year)

I would guess more like 35% considering the 20% pool increase and competition increase

@acron611 talked to my guidance counselor today who received an email from an admissions counselor at Villanova. He said Villanova’s application numbers spiked up by over 20% this year

The Villanova spokesperson who responded to question from Philadelphia Inquirer said 38-40 percent

Accepted (deferred from EA)
ACT: 30 Superscored: 32
GPA: 3.7 (weighted)
AP Classes: 8

A little surprised I didn’t get in, a girl from my school who has had the same leadership positions/involvement as me got their Presidential full-ride scholarship two years ago. Our commonalities: ranked #1 in our class, National Honor Society President, class officer 4 years, varsity athlete, lots of other ECs and community service. Anyway, I accepted my waitlist position and am hoping for the best.

S accepted to LAS after Deferral in Dec.
2100 SAT
1480 SAT
3.44 GPA (unweighted)
4 APs
9 Honors classes
Honor Roll all 4 years of HS
Varsity baseball; a couple clubs
Great essays and recs

Btw 'Nova, the congratulations from Jay Wright in the video was a very nice touch.

Has anyone gotten into the FB group

Okay, I got into Villanova. When I applied to all my schools in October/November I put on my Common app that i was taking 1 out of my 4 classes 2nd semester (Block Schedule) AP. What I ended up doing was not doing that AP class and instead I took release time and 3 classes total (1 honors class at school and 2 regular classes online).I also stated that I was going to take 2 AP tests for other AP classes that i took tbe semester before, but I decided against them. Am I okay and worrying to much, or should I be concerned about admissions?

I got in

@ilovelabs Things have changed at VU over the past two years making it much more competitive. Basketball championship and VSB #1 ranking. As many have stated, applications skyrocketed this year making it the most competitive year in the Universities history. Not sure what your stats are or what school you applied to but if it was VSB, it’s incredibly competitive. Admittance across the board has proved to be much more competitive. Best of luck to you, I hope you get your wish.

@neutopschool Yes, my son has joined the FB group.

@Loganjt1 First, I would speak with your HS adviser and get their opinion. Maybe they have a relationship with admissions at VU. If you don’t get the answers you’re looking for there, then I would contact VU admissions directly and ask those questions. Specifically before May 1 when other doors may close. You’ll rest better once you know for sure. Good luck!

My brother works in admissions. Acceptance rate was 34 this year.
