So I’ve been researching Villanova Uniersity because I like how similar it is to BC. My only concern is the Greek Life, do a lot of people partake in it. I love to be involved in my school and all that stuff but is the only way to be involved is through Greek life?
My brother in law is a graduate and fraternity member. The presence is very small and service oriented. There are no Greek houses at Villanova.
There’s a ton of organizations on campus. Certainly Greek Life has a presence, but the other big organizations to get involved in are Ambassadors/Blue Key (admissions and tours), Special Olympics, service organizations, business or other pre-professional societies, all of which have are a decent commitment and have opportunities to get involved and make friends. There’s a big Activity Fair in the fall to get involved in everything.
I’m a freshman girl at villanova in a sorority, and I love it! Overall all of the chapters are filled with extremely nice girls who are genuine and very involved on campus and really enjoy being in Greek life. Frats are frats, my friends that are in them enjoy it for the partying. That being said, I have a ton of friends who aren’t in Greek and are just as happy. Friend groups aren’t defined by being in Greek life or not, and there are tons of other ways to get involved and meet people through club sports, blue key, religious groups, and tons tons more. !
I would say it’s pretty big here, but by not means it is overwhelming. I would just note that there are fraternities and sororities that stress academics and service more than drinking/socializing, which is an Amazing alternative to the stereotypically Greek life.
