Villanova v. Rutgers Presidential Scholar

Hi, I am currently deciding between Villanova and Rutgers (Business in both universities). I earned the Presidential Scholarship (full tuition, room and board) for Rutgers and a fairly good scholarship from Villanova (though I would graduate with about $20,000 in debt after paying about $15-20,000 per year). I know that VSB is definitely the better business school with higher rankings for academic quality, professors, etc., but I wanted to get some other opinions about whether or not it's worth giving up a full ride to Rutgers Honors Program. I plan to major in Finance, Accounting, and/or Mathematics. There are just so many factors that go into this decision and my mind is about to explode!

Nova is definitely a great place, but you have to ask yourself what else could you do with the extra $80k you are talking about spending? My guess is that you’d be able to do some pretty great things to augment your education if you kept that money in your pocket.

I can see both sides to it but if I were making this decision I’d go with Rutgers and do whatever I could to enhance that experience with the money saved – maybe graduate school, some international opportunities, or even taking an unpaid internship if necessary to get some added experience.

Thank you for your input!.. On the one hand, I really do love Villanova - I’ve visited three times and sat in for a class and it was amazing. On the other hand, Rutgers is still a good school, not great, but the starting salary is almost the same as Villanova’s business students and I’m sure I can make friends and get a solid education at whichever school I choose. I really appreciate the advice!

Villanova business has an 85% employment right after graduation rate, with 9% going to grad school. you won’t find these statistics for rutgers undergrad business because they are pathetic.
