Hi! I am between Bucknell and Villanova. I love Villanova’s location but love Bucknell’s party scene. I would love some opinions or information on either school to help me with my decision. Thank you!
Just my opinion.
Bucknell- obviously smaller, more isolated than Villanova. More of a frat and sorority school with more students living on campus. Great engineering program, very nice school. I visited and liked it a lot, but did not end up applying because they did not have a business school, but more of a business program, and the other schools had larger business schools where I’d have more options and more resources. Low d1 basketball with the Colonial league, so decent college basketball and school spirit for basketball and football, but nothing on the national level. More liberal. Expensive.
Villanova- (the school I am going to next year so excuse the bias)- very community-oriented, lots of school spirit. 20 mins outside of Philly by train. Very white, upper-middle class and upper class. Very solid engineering, nursing, and business programs. Party scene is a little lacking for those younger than 21. The basketball team has been very highly ranked of recent years, but has been bounced early in the tournament, but the basketball games are a nice social outing as they are unilaterally supported. Very strong alumni network and very strong study abroad program. Expensive. Catholic, conservative.
Good luck!!!
