Villanova vs. Colgate

Hello, so I have pretty much narrowed my college decision down to these two choices but i am having a really tough time deciding where to attend. I am interested in a career in business/finance and will be a finance major at nova and an econ major at Colgate.

I do think that Colgate is marginally superior in terms of prestige and academic standing, but nova would be about 20k cheaper for the first two years, at which point my aid may disappear as a sibling would graduate from college. My parents insist that money isn't that big of an issue and I should go where I feel comfortable, but I don't want to make life more difficult for them than it needs to be. I also have some concerns with social life at Villanova, but that has been covered many times on this forum. Any opinions or advice?

You are very fortunate to have parents who will back your decision financially. Is Colgate a stronger school academically? yes. but consider all things. While a pretty campus, Colgate is also located in a great, cold wilderness called Hamilton, NY. Nova is just outside (short train ride) from a major city in Philly, with all that it offers. Lots of school pride and sports to bolster the Nova faithful. A good education is offered by both.

Some kids would prefer Colgate, others Villanova. Visit both. Spend a weekend at each and let your heart decide.
