I need help deciding between these two. Any pros and cons would be helpful. They both check all the broader boxes in what I’m looking for, but I need more of a sense of what the vibe is like.
Lehigh: I need info on the dominance of Greek life specifically
Villanova: Does religion influence the campus in an overwhelming way? I’m not religious but I’m half Jewish, half Christain
I am going to Lehigh. I was concerned about Greek. Seems they have really cracked down on it. 30% in Greek which means 70% is non-Greek. They have Lehigh after dark which hosts events Thurs, Fri, and Sat nights 10pm until 2am.
Current Villanova student. I’d say the religious climate is more based on values than going to church. There’s really no pressure to be Catholic at all. I have tons of friends that were raised Catholic, tons of friends that are atheist, stuff like that. Some people go to church. Some don’t. We have Younglife on campus, different bible studies, a Hillel group… the thing that we all have in common are the Augustinian values. Truth, unity, and love. That’s what’s talked about a lot by administration and in every event or project the school embarks on. Villanova is such a great place with unparalleled school spirit and alumni support. I couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else. The people here are so passionate and kind.
