Anybody have any information in regards to Villanova's Undergraduate Business Program?

I know it's ranked very poorly in the Business Programs Ranking, but I've heard that recruitment is very good in the northeast with top firms. That's about all I know..

yes, although it is ranked low for business, Villanova has very good recruitment by companies in the northeast. The business rankings are not very reliable as they are not based on any academic factor. Instead the rankings are compiled by having deans/faculty of schools take a survey of their perception of the school.

Villanova is recruited by Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers. That should give you an indication of the strength of their business program.

recruitment is pretty damn good compared with ranking-
I know a sohpmore who just got an internship with GS.
Even though they don't technically recruit here Citigroup I-banking sent someone from their trading desk to a career fair.
PwC and the other big 4 accounting firms have a huge presence and are always around.
Career services is pretty good.
Its all about sucessful alumni and Nova has its fair share of those

yup Villanova is a very highly recruited school and its rank should not be used as any measurement of its business program because its business program is much better than the ranking.

I think everyone on the College Confidential Forums decided that US News rankings are crap.

US News rankings are so stupid...it doesn't mean ANYTHING. But my parents seem to depend on it so much..."if you get a 3.6 cum, you should apply to schools between ranks 30 and 60." What the hell?

Anyways, Goldman Sachs and Lehman also recruit at Wharton. So maybe it's not much worse than Wharton? Just kidding. With that logic, NYU should be an ivy.

I don't think Villanova is that bad...although I never knew they had undergrad business.

The fact of the matter is that all you can hope for is that your school will give you exposure to Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers. If it does that then you need to finish the job on your own merits.

Just checked the class of 2005 placement statistics available on the Villanova website. 7 students went on to be analysts at Merrill Lynch and 3 as analysts at Goldman. Villanova also just received the #19 ranking for their undergrad business program (US News).
