Even though for Villanova Early Action you must send in ACT scores by November 1.. I sent in my October scores November 9... will they penalize me for it?

Yes. Your application was incomplete on the deadline and will not be considered. Feel free to call admissions and try to work something out, but chances are, they nicely say “too bad.”

Reapply for regular admission.

I emailed the school about my account information and they replied with this…

It does not mention the test scores, so do you think it will not be considered at all.

Thank you for your email and interest in Villanova University! If you are contacting me in regard to your Early Action application, please note that we are currently in the process of uploading applications and matching the academic credentials. All applications and credentials should be updated in myNOVA by Thursday, December 2, 2010 when you will be able to view your Checklist. As long as your Common Application with the Villanova Supplement was submitted by November 1, your completed application will be reviewed.

I don’t know if Pancaked knows that for a fact.

Does Villanova say that it uses October ACT scores for EA? If it does, how would they expect you to get them to them before the scores were available??

Edited to add.

With your latest post, it looks like you’re ok.

It says last ACT date is September and SAT date is October. I had already sent my SAT scores from June and September, but when I received my October ACT scores I sent them too. Since they already have some kind of scores, wouldn’t they consider my October scores too?

Woah, you did not mention any of this before!
From that email auto-reply, it almost sounds like they will accept late arrivals of scores, but I really wouldn’t count on it. I can’t see them accepting late scores a week past the deadline, and when they already have other scores from you. They say September is the last ACT for a reason. Unless your ACT was significantly more impressive than either SAT, just forget about it. The worst they will do is throw out the ACT scores, shouldn’t have to worry about a penalty- your application is still complete. If your ACT was a ton better, call them, and try to get it worked out. E-mails this time of year are epic failures.

Sorry… i sent the email after I posted the question
