Villanova's bad reputation about financial aid

I heard rumor about Villanova's financial aid policy which is decreasing financial aid amount year by year? Is it true that they decrease the amount although the student needs it?

All schools require you to fill out FAFSA each year. So the stories you may have heard were from students whose EFC rose while they were in college.

One trick to find this information is to explore the retention and graduation rate of schools. While people don't return to schools for any number of reasons, its expense is a big factor. Villanova has good retention (94% freshmen returning) and graduation (79% graduating in 4 years) rates.

per the cds, the average grant for villanova freshman receiving aid this year was around $20700. the average for a non-freshman was around $18200.

and while i would say this drop is larger than average, its neither atypical nor enormous.
