My friend who also took AP euro told me that apparently this girl forgot to turn off her cell phone, it didn't ring, it was just on, but the protoctor said that she was going to throw away her answer documents !! is that allowed? or no?

How did the proctor know the girl had it? Technically, you're not even supposed to have them in the testing room; the proctor is generally supposed to collect them.

Makes you wonder how the proctor knew that the cell phone was on. :) If the cell phone had been discretely placed where no one would know, then I don't see how your friend could have gotten in trouble.

According to the Coordinator's Guide, using a prohibited aid requires the test book and answer sheet to be destroyed. I'm guessing that the word "using" is somewhat at the discretion of the coordinator here.

i'm not sure.. i wasn't in the room when it happened. we collected the cell phones before we even went into the rooms. i think they were going through the cell phone pile and sorting them as well as checking them to make sure they were off and they found out hers was on.

Assuming it was in possession of the proctor the entire time, I would think that the test wouldn't be required to be destroyed, but I would guess that most counselors would file an irregularity report just in case to cover their rear ends. :)

I'm not sure just how much of that falls within the discretion of the proctor, though.

i hope the proctor is a nice bloke and was just joking, cuz that's a horrible thing to happen!! but she should have turned it off though.

Man, thats gotta suck. Me, I'm paranoid about the whole cell phone thing so I take the battery out before turning it in - I keep the battery in my pocket too, just in case. Yeah, like I said paranoid. Haha

-Sean

the battery?!
well, better to be safe than sorry, right?

LOL, yeah well I'm gonna be paranoid again tommorow for the physics AP C shudders. Well on second thought im f-ed anyway, whether I get kicked out or take it myself.
