Honors College: my daughter got a letter in the mail about it about two weeks after the acceptance letter. Congrats on your acceptance!

just so everyone has an idea, I completed my app oct. 5, saw I was accepted online oct 22ish, recieved letter oct 29 and honors college invitation nov 11… Now, when does the scholarship money come through? :)

I’ll follow your lead! Show me the money! ha

App completed: 10/29
Acceptance online: 11/1
Acceptance letter: dated 10/29 (which is weird)
Honors College letter: dated 11/9

Mine was completed Nov.5 and I still haven’t heard, when should I hear?

my app was complete november 23rd and i got accepted the 24th online. i still havent gotten the letter or anything related to honors. If you guys that got in to the honors dont mind what are your stats… particularly gpa and sat and did you send extra info?

D’s stats:

SAT: 2060 (CR 660, Math 760, WR 640)
SAT II: Math II 750, Chem: 660
ACT: 31
GPA: 4.05 (don’t know if that is weighted or unweighted)

She did not send any extra info.

My D got an email on 11/11, subject “Scholarship opportunities at UVM” that said “We notify students of any scholarships, beginning in mid-January and no later than the end of March.” Also, previous years’ posts have said that the honors invitations come out in waves, so I wouldn’t give up hope if you haven’t heard.

ACT: 32
Class rank: top 10%
SAT II Math I: 750
SAT II Chem: 700
GPA: 3.77 unweighted

I know that uvm honors decisions have a big part to do with test scores instead of actual school ranks and gpas, just based off of the kids I know in the program now and those that were not invited (but were perhaps better students) last year.

accepted! for neuroscience. too bad they can’t post potential fin. aid.

nope. vip is rolling admission whereas early has a decision notification deadline.

I was accepted into the honors college at the same time I was accepted into the University. Wish you all luck!

I really just wanna know. My application showed up as Complete since the last time I checked, so sometime in the last two days…so I just wanna know if I got in.

Out of curiosity, those of you who got accepted to the Honors College, did you apply for it on the application or did they just tell you that you got in?

My daughter applied on Oct 28th via common app and hasVIP status, but still has not heard anything…

That seems strange, you should call admissions to see if they received all of the application materials.

On a side note, I’ve made it into the honors college!

Hey guys, I applied VIP but I applied to regular decision. Will I still get my decision rolling? Or will I have to wait until February?

msm - I applied 10/26, and heard around 11/19. Did they send you an email with a number to check your status online? If not, call them because you should have received that right away.

MSM…My D is in the same boat. Filed EA on November 1st and she is classified as a VIP on the admission site (I guess because we did visit UVM). No word yet…hopefully soon!

Doesn’t Vermont have a a 12/15 online release date for all EA candidates? Has anyone Gotten in who’s NOT a VIP candidate? My son’s school Naviance (public/NJ) is showing 7 acceptances which seems too high to be all VIP…

My daughter got a VIP acceptance but we don’t know what that means?

Aberdeenie: do you mean a VIP acceptance, or ability for a VIP application.

VIP application means if you choose to apply, you get to do it for free. Still have to pay to send scores, but that 50 or so dollars gets saved, just apply for a fee waiver on common app and you’re fine.

It also means you get your decision on a rolling basis - meaning you get it much earlier than the deadlines (most people on here seem to have gotten there decision within a few weeks).

If you mean a VIP Acceptance and that wasn’t a typo, than I’m sorry, I’m not sure.
