Does anyone know of anyone who applied to UVM through the VIP application and did NOT get into the Honors College? It seems to me that everyone here applied and got accepted and I was just wondering if UVM automatically accepted anyone who submitted a VIP application into the Honors College. Or it could just be that everyone who regularly uses this website is completely college obsessed and naturally does well :D.

Your last sentence hit the nail on the head! S applied via VIP, got accepted, but nothing about the Honors College. He did get a small ($2k per year) scholarship though -- I think they try to sweeten the deal for us OOS'ers!

states above my son also did the VIP and didn't get into the honors program and also got 2 grand. At the end of all this I wonder how many of the students who got into honors and a nice scholarship will end up at UVM. Those are impressive stats they have and I'm sure will have many other choices.

The nephew of a friend of mine was offered VIP app last...and was eventually denied admission. He was OOS. I don't know the reason for the denial.

How does the Presidential scholarship correlate to an honors college invite? If you get one, is it likely that you get the other? My D received acceptance last week and then a few days later got the scholarship information. She's not heard anything about the honors college though. Is that a bad sign?

It means he didn't get into the honors program. The scholarship and honors college are seperate from each other.

Would she definitely have heard already? She was accepted to the school last week and received the $12000 Presidential Scholarship earlier this week.

In 2007, my d received acceptance via the VIP application in early November, with the Presidential Scholarship. She didn't hear about the Honors College until early January (she was accepted). Assuming they still do things the same way, she shouldn't worry yet.

(My d chose to attend a different school.)

I think they admit some to the honors college right away because I and I know some other CCer's got invited already. But before from reading VERY OLD posts I thought I had to wait until january or sometime around then. So either they changed it or it's some now and some later.

Yeah I did the VIP, got accepted with the $2k scholarship...is there any chance I get into the honors college?

Does any scholarship or honors college info come with the acceptance letter or after?
What are stats for presidential scholarship?

honors college admittance, scholarship info, and uvm acceptance all came in separate envelopes. I got the presidential scholarship, which is $3k for four years. You can look at my other posts for my personal stats.

I recieved my admission letter first, and then the day after I received the presidential scholarship which was 3k and the Academic scholarship 3.5k. (Shoshi are you sure that your son received the 12k presidential scholarship? I looked on their website and the highest range they posted for the Presidential was 3k for Out of State students.) Then about a week later I got the Honor`s college letter, so I think there may still be a chance to get into the Honors college.

Ayodeji, the scholarship was $12000 for the 4 years, so the same $3000/year that everyone else has received.

Ayodeji, did you receive 3k plus 3.5K? Are you OOS? Anyone going to the accepted students day on Feb 13th?

I don't know if I'm going to one of those accepted student days. UVM is my safety school and I doubt my parents would want to spend the money to send me up there for a day. When are the rest of the days besides Feb. 13th?

There is another in Feb and then several in March and April. We will be in Vermont the so it worked out.

Lol oh sorry shoshi, I really misunderstood that one. 4giggles I am an OOS and I got both, even though that won`t help much since I think the tuition is like 29k for OOS.
