Still nothing…!

i found out 2 days ago

I applied to the School of Engineering. Still nothing. Maybe next week?

We haven’t heard either (business school VIP)…File complete on 10/28.
Hope to hear soon…

Just got accepted :)

Son was just accepted also! His application was complete on 10/27, so 4 1/2 weeks turnaround for us.

Son was accepted 11/18. Environmental studies. So happy!

Sent all my stuff in, October 27th, Political Science. Yet to hear a response! I talked to another girl who said the same thing happened to her (it taking forever to hear a response) we are both VIP candidates. I know of another girl who got in, and she applied the same time we did. Anyone else in the same boat? Dying with anticipation! Congrats to everyone who was accepted!

Same time period for me! No response yet

No response here either… had everything complete Oct. 31st. It is kind of weird because it says on their status page that they usually release decisions within a week, but it may take up to 2 weeks around the deadline… so much for VIP rolling decisions… it’s almost the regular EA release date now…Dec. 12th… I don’t really know what is going on as I know last year a lot more people had rolling decisions early. Maybe they got A LOT more EA applicants this year and they are having a harder time processing them. Has anyone emailed anyone about it… I might on Monday.

Congrats to those of you who have been accepted! We are still waiting on the VIP application! Thought we might hear this week…Did anyone else hear from the business school?
We applied at the very end of October and no news yet…

I listed two SAT dates (Oct & Nov) when I applied to UVM but only sent my October scores (November ones were not available on Nov 1st). UVM received my October scores but are they waiting for my Nov scores to decide whether to admit me or not?

Applied VIP on October 31st and was accepted November 18th. I don’t know why, but it seems to be different for everyone. My good friend applied on the same day as me and still hasn’t heard back.

My S was deferred:-((( 2190 SAT’s 3.6 GPA, Eagle Scout, 1500 CS hrs. tons of leadership…etc… ???

^wow…that is surprising with those stats…really doesn’t make sense. On other thread, 1700 SAT kid was accepted.

Oh, 5boys, so sorry! His stats are so good, I wonder if they are just protecting their yield. I am sure he will have great results elsewhere, don’t let those get you both down.

We won’t… thanks GCmom… it is really just confusing more than worrisome… to me anyway… I’m sure he will be worried. It’s just hard to see the stats of the kids that WERE accepted and my S’s deferral. This college admissions stuff is not for the faint of heart…LOL!!

Wow, 5boys … can you tell us more about your Son’s stats? Is he from VT? Maybe they think he is using UVM for safety? Did he also have 2-3 years of foreign language? What was his major? My S’s stats are lower than that and he’s an Eagle Scout, but he really likes UVMs environmental science program. He applied around 11/13 so we don’t expect to hear for a while.

5boys, sorry to hear about the deferral. This is my second time around with the admissions process and it really is hard to understand! My oldest has a 2270 on his SATs and 4.3 GPA and did not get into many schools he applied to - it was really strange. Sometimes I think they are assuming your son will get in somewhere else where he is more likely to go, so they do not want to “waste” an admissions. If he is interested and shows it during the next few months, I am sure he will get in! Best of luck!

Snowflake… He is from CA… He goes to one of the top prep schools in the country. He has 5 AP’s, and 4 years of everything except 3 years of FL. He has a pretty atypical and extensive resume… with nothing frivolous. Big meaty EC’s that he has been involved with for a long time. He spent his past summer interning with the National Parks on trail conservation in Alaska and Canada. He has a job and commutes 3 hrs everyday to school. He received the highest honor in scouting…above Eagle and is the Junior Scoutmaster this year for the troop of over 40 scouts. He had good grades, took hard classes and his teachers LOVE him… so the deferral was a little shocking… don’t really know what they didn’t like? We did look at the schools naviance and it showed that in the past 3 years 17 kids got accepted but no one matriculated… so maybe they just are sick of it??

Thanks MUM… UVM is not his top choice… it’s Colorado College, where he also applied EA… so that is why my S is now very scared… We will see… I know this stuff is crazy over the top.
