VIP candidates

5boys, your son’s stats are amazing and I’m sure he will get into a great school. UVM is probably thinking that he is not going to matriculate because he really could get into a Middlebury or Bowdoin with those stats. I hope you hear positively from Colorado College.

Thanks Snowflake!! FWIW… my S applied to Rubenstein and is going to be an ES major too. He just switched his EA app to ED at Colorado College… keep your fingers crossed. I think the UVM deferral is what prompted him to do it… he wanted to all along but I tried to convince him to look at all schools… he just feel hard for CC.

Good decision, I think, 5boys. Please let us know how it turns out! (I love CC, wish it were closer to us, my outdoors loving girls would love it)

accepted to the honors college!

This waiting is so difficult. My son applied vip nov. 1 and still there is no decision. UVM is really his first choice. Does not have the same GPA as those already admitted, but has excellent test scores and is a terrific kid. Not that I am biased or anything!

we’ll keep our FINGERSCROSSED for you and your S. My S is also waiting, but he applied Nov. 13. He has not received an email from UVM yet, so I assume they are process the Nov. 1st candidates first before the rest.

Son accepted today! Applied Nov. 1, VIP. UVM was waiting for his 1st marking period grades which where sent late by Guidance. Keep checking your status daily (we did) and good luck to everyone!

Snowflake,
I did not understand your comment re no e-mail yet. you mean your son did not get an e-mail giving him the login information for the application page, after he submitted his application? That came immediately after submission – within 24 hours. Is there another e-mail?

Correct, he submitted after Nov. 1st, so I just assumed that they would process his admit once all the Nov. 1st admits were processed. Did anyone else apply after Nov. 1st? My son waited as his Eagle Scout board-of-review was after Nov. 1st and he wanted to say he was an Eagle Scout, not just ‘expected Nov. 2011’.

Oh, I see. So he did not apply before the early action deadline, although I don’t know how that does or does not affect VIPs. But I think he should be able to make sure they received his application – at least via the common app site, right? I would double check with the admissions office about what happens next, maybe?

Yes, I’ll have him send a note to the rep for his area. He did get some kind of email today that was different, but no app checking info yet.

Mt son is an EA applicant and did not receive any log in info yet, Seems odd considering decisions come out this week and he hasn’t had the ability to check his application status. No response from email questions from admissions.

I got accepted as a VIP applicant on Dec 5th and I sent in on November 1st. Good luck to your son Chelsea0011!

Just heard…Admit! School of Business…VIP application completed at the end of October.
Delay may have been 1st term grades.
Very happy to be admitted!

My S found an email address for the admissions person in our area and she replied in a day with the userid and password for how my S can check his status. All I can figure is that the original emal accidentally got deleted or our internet company ate it. Also, my son’s application is not VIP … my bad. He is in the regular decision pool. :)
